In 2005, Keiskamma Friends proposed that it would improve working relationships between South African Keiskamma Art Project women and volunteer friends in UK and France if representatives from Hamburg and/or Bodiam were invited to spend time with Jan Chalmers and Jacky Jezewski.

The visit was a roaring success. Not only did it allow Friends of the Keiskamma Trust to talk first hand with representatives of the men and women of the Keiskamma region who they had been so generously supporting through donations, sales and purchases, but it also gave the delegates the opportunity to see how well recieved all their hard work is.

Thanks to the success of the visit we know that the delegates have returned to South Africa with renewed and revitalised energy and stories for their colleagues with the first-hand knowledge of how well loved their work is all those many thousands of miles away.
